King Rysy is an award winning photograph that claimed first place for the Best European Landscape 2023.

The night before I took this photo, I camped beside the Białka River, unaware of what lay hidden behind the thick morning fog. As the first light of day stirred the landscape, the mist began to to lift, revealing the King of Tatry, Mount Rysy, Poland’s highest peak, emerging in the distance, framed by the winding river below.
