The day I took this photograph, there were only 1000 Siberian Tigers left in the world. Face to face with this magnificent beast, I captured a moment of pure presence - it's piercing gaze, it's quiet power and it's fight for survival.

The tiger in the photograph had a history connected to the illegal European wildlife trade and she has sinced passed away in 2024. Each loss brings the Siberian Tiger closer to extinction as their future remains uncertain.
